(More customer reviews)This is a great concept - holds phone at almost any angle and position, recharges, and allows phone screen to be on all the time (big plus), and prevents having to hold or manipulate the phone in the car (very bad idea in my judgment, taking attention off of the road). Unfortunately, there is lousy attention to electrical issues which makes it a marginal product. They omitted a cheap choke coil (to prevent alternator whine from getting into the phone audio output), which means terrible noise and constant alternator whine gets into both phone calls and mp3 players output. Shame.

(More customer reviews)This is the second unit which we bought for car #2 after being pleased with the first one in our other car.
Setup and installation was very easy. Sound quality has been excellent except for the "voice dialing feature". The built-in female voice responding with "SAY A COMMAND" is not very clear and cuts off in the middle of the last syllable so I sometimes hope it is dialing the right person. When I prompt with "CALL HOME", its response is "DID YOU SAY CALL HOm. . ." and trails off. [5/21/10-Editing my comment - just now discovered the female voice I described above is the lady inside my BlackBerry - So this problem may be with my phone, not the T215. Duhhh.]
The other minor issue is the visor clip - if your visor is thick, it tends to pop the wire out of the plastic groove in the surface of the unit holding the clip in. I will probably try to bend the wire without breaking it to relieve some of the pressure.
Until something better comes along, I expect to buy one of these for each of our family cars as it makes usage in the car much safer and is not as annoying or distracting as having a pretentious bluetooth thingy stuck in my ear.

I purchased the transmitter Soundcast ICT-111 iCast Transmitter and receiver Soundcast ICR-112 iCast Receiver. From opening the box to listing to wireless music in less than 3 minutes. Drop dead simple.
In the past I have tired multiple FM transmitters for my Nano. All have static, drops and distance issues. I feared the same here. I was happily surprised. Not a single problem.
I live in a high rise building in a downtown location. When I switch on my laptop wireless I see lots and lots of connection points. So I was worried about interference with my Soundcast. My receiver is setup in a different room and there is a metal stud wall in-between. After a full month of use, I am happy to report not one crackle, bleep or dropped connection. It just works.
The receiver has a nice feature of being able to stop/play, go forward or backward in a playlist. This also works flawlessly.
This is a well engineered device and it just works.

TuneBase Direct with Hands-free Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased the TuneBase Direct with the hope that it would make it much easier to take advantage of all my iPhone 3GS offers while on my 70 mile commute to and from work, and I am happy to report that the device has met my expectations. I am using the provided 3.5 mm audio cable to connect the device to the aux-in on my Kenwood head unit in my 2003 Mazda Protege, and the setup works very well. Obviously, it allows me to listen to music without draining the iPhone's battery or locking the screen, which is much more conducive to switching playlists while driving. I also like the fact that I can play, stop, and skip tracks, activate voice control, and answer and hang up calls all with the one button on the device. The built-in mic seems to work well as everyone I have spoken to on the phone via the TuneBase has said they could hear me clearly. Another positive feature is the ability to adjust the device to accomodate various iPod and iPhone models with or without cases; I use the Incase Slider on my iPhone, and it fits perfectly in the TuneBase.
I would have rated the TuneBase with 5 stars if it weren't for two minor drawbacks: 1) the control button is a bit difficult to use for skipping tracks as you must press it twice rapidly to skip forward or thrice rapidly to skip backward, which often leads to simply pausing and playing again; and 2) the TuneBase tends to fall to the side when making sharp turns. Despite these minor flaws, I would still highly recommend the TuneBase.
In the interest of full disclosure, another drawback is that when making or receiving calls on the highway, I must crank my stereo's volume to max in order to hear the person clearly (and must remember to turn it back down before the music resumes!), but it did not affect my rating because it is not the fault of the TuneBase but rather my car for letting too much road noise into the cabin.

Griffin Navigate In-Line Controller for iPod and iPhone (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I've seen this question raised, and Griffin doesn't answer it, so I will. This product works flawlessly on my iPhone 4. (16GB, US model, OS 4.1 Jailbroken.) I can't guarantee that it'll work on yours, but I can't see why it wouldn't.
So, that said, it's really freakin' cool! I know a lot of people are buying this for the radio, so I'll start with that. Sound quality is actually pretty good, relatively clear but with a background hiss. I'd say it's the best portable FM without an external antenna I've ever used, but honestly I'm not a big radio listener, so I'm not comparing it to that much. RDS works, but can take 30 seconds or a minute before it shows up. Griffin's iFM app works with mine, however I had to switch "Hardware Support" from "Auto" to "On", in the iFM tab within the iPhone's main settings menu. As far as I can tell, the Navigate can be controlled by the app, but it can't control the app, if that makes sense. The headphones act as an antenna for the radio, and they're kinda touchy, if you find just the right angle for the cable, it gets great reception, but letting the cable coil up the wrong way or touch the wrong object can make it horrible. It's a lot easier to get a signal with my Sony earbuds than with my Audio-Technica headphones, which have a very long cable.
Otherwise, everything works exactly as stated. The OLED display is awesome, and the unit controls MP3s without any trouble. Navigating through playlists, etc, is easy, too.
With what this unit sells for here on Amazon, I see no reason NOT to buy it if you're looking for a remote control for an iPhone or iPod. I'm not as sure about the radio, due to the headphone issues, but the same problem will exist with any similar unit.

(More customer reviews)I've used just about every MP3 player there is and this one is right there with the best of them. It's small light and extremely easy to use. You don't need ANY software to upload songs to it. The device shows up like a drive on your PC. You have the option of using Windows Media Player 11 to upload songs, but I'd rather just drag and drop songs or use my Napster subscription to upload songs from Napster's huge library. I thought 2GB wouldn't be enough but it is so easy to upload songs when my mood changes that it's never been an issue for me. If you like to watch movies then you may want to go with the larger 4GB (NWZS616) or 8GB (NWZS618) versions of this model since a typical movie takes up ~700K memory after you compress it to QVGA. If you want a larger screen size then you can get the NWZA815. That model is basically the same player with a larger screen. It also has a heavier metal shell, but it does not have an FM tuner like the NWZS615, and I wanted the FM tuner. I typically use my player in shuffle mode in my car and if I don't want to hear a song, it is a breeze to reach down and click just to the right of the center button to skip to the next song. I honestly can't see how anyone would be disappointed with this player especially when you consider the great price.

while it is a great price the manual is useless and my husband who is very tech savy had trouble with the installation. no matter what he did the screen stayed black and it so far has been a very expensive dome light. I am a bit frustrated with the company because they seem to be unapologetic about the issue and want us to just send it back. we needed this for a long car trip for the kids and now it looks like i will either have to fork over the dough for a new one upfront or go without. the unit is pretty and a great price but the company gets a D- for service and quality.

I came on the website to rate this product and I just happened to notice that now they are offering FREE 2 day shipping! When I just I payed 10.50 for my 2-day shipping 2 DAYS AGO!!! WTH? Anyways the product...It is not as flimsy as everyone has said. It works great if you find a good station. I found this on the web which might help you locate a good station to use in your area http://www.radio-locator.com/ it is an excellent tool to find free frequencies in your area. As for the Tunecast it works well and the AC adapter that comes with the product is a nice add on that you don't have to pay extra for...If you really want a good FM transmitter I recommend that you check a listing for hobby shops and FM transmitters with more power that you can install in your car otherwise this is a good moderate choice with little out of pocket expense and almost no set up time. The lighting on the screen makes it really easy to see the station you slected which is a great safety feature since we should be watching the road while we are driving and enjoying the finer tunes of Elliot Smith a freaking awesome guitarist. Too bad he's gone would have love to see a concert of his, but I guess if that's the case I would have really loved to see Jimi Hendrix, but alas born a few decades too late I will have to settle to Jimi and Elliot on my ipod! (More customer reviews)I had high hopes for this product. I'd been using a cassette style adapter for my MP3 player and wasn't happy with the normal tape hiss present in that style of adapter.
The unit works as described and is fairly convenient to use if you keep the "cheat card" of frequencies handy. You must also have a good, solid unused frequency in your area among the ones available on the Voyager. Unfortunately, I don't really have a frequency that's completely clear for it to broadcast through, which results in a fair amount of static and squeals and pops normally associated with AM radio stations.
I'm sure this product would work well for people in areas with a lot of clear frequencies, but I've gone back to my cassette adapter. The tape hiss is more acceptable to me than the random poor quality and static I frequently get with the Voyager.

(More customer reviews)I bought this after frustrating attempts to get my XM receiver to work with my car. Right out of the box, the FM modulator was next to useless as I could not get a reliable dead channel for interruption free operation of my reciever. I didn't have a cassette player, so I couldn't use that method and the auxillary ports in my cars entertainment center, just had a high pitched squeal with only occured with the XM device hooked up into it.
I tried this device upon recommendation of a friend. After removing my stereo and attempting to install it, I found that the plugs do not fit a standard GM stereo (I have a 2005 Aztek). This prompted me to run to the local Best Buy and purchase some adapter plugs (they knew exactly what I was asking for) and that set me back another $25. Upon returning home and using the plugs, everything works fine. I've got my XM finally hooked up in the car and love it. Too bad they didn't include the adapters with the kit, otherwise I'd have given it a higher rating.

(More customer reviews)For most people, Coby isn't the first name that comes to mind when you think of bang-for-the-buck electronics, but if ever the company had the opportunity for a turning point, or at least a shining exception, the CX-CB12 could be it. Know ahead of time that this radio doesn't break any new ground in sensitivity or selectivity - it picks up the same AM and FM stations at the same strength as any other under-$50 radio you've ever used. That being said, this radio has some big advantages.
A quick glance at the wider-than-tall analog display gives you an idea of it's expansive shortwave band coverage. There aren't any other radios in that under-$50 class that let you listen in on the 60 all the way to the 13 meter bands. Any and all of the major international SW broadcasts can potentially be received by this radio.
The control surfaces belong on a much more expensive unit - the power and band selection switches on the front move with luxury car smoothness, and the large, open tuning and volume wheels on the right side have clearly been designed for comfortable long-term listening.
Add to this incredible battery life. With only the little "Tune" LED contributing to power drain aside from the actual radio circuit (the power and band selection indicators are all mechanical), you can enjoy several hours of listening a day for literally months without replacing batteries.
Should you purchase one of these gems, you should also pick up a $10 pocket reel antenna (available here on Amazon and anywhere else radios are taken seriously), which will exponentially improve your SW reception. I have picked up several numbers stations (Google "numbers stations" if you don't know what those are) using only this $10 radio and $10 antenna setup. You won't be able to use a bare wire or large antenna, as powerful and/or nearby AM stations will flood the dial at all bands and frequencies, rendering reception impossible (yes, you'll have to spend more than $20 to hardcore DX). Accessory-wise, the included earbuds are of course cheap, but this makes sense as the purchase price should go towards the actual radio itself, not earphones. A quality set of headphones will result in quality sound.
And all of this for *ten bucks*. It's an ideal first SW set - if you or someone you know is interested in what the buzz is about shortwave, you can get your foot in the door here for the cost of lunch. At this price, losing it on vacation or having a curious youngster immolate one isn't such a big deal. It's quite possible that this is the low-cost mass-produced Model T of shortwave radios, and hopefully Coby will take note and build on this example in the future.

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these adapters. I recived them within a week and one worked as it should and the other did not. The return process is a bit of a hassle and I haven't yet recieved the replacement (however, it's only been a few days). The one that works operates well and has good range in open space. A major problem for me is that the battery seems to only last about 1.5 hours before the sound begins to drop out occaisionally. Overall the quality is mediocre and performance is reasonable for the price. I would probably advise a friend to spend a little more and try a different adapter.
Update the one that I could get to work has quit after 2 weeks. The one that did not work originally was sent back 2 weeks ago with no response from the manufacturer. Junk and Junk. Don't buy this get something else.

(More customer reviews)I'm a bit surprised at the reviewer who gave only three stars to this system and said in his title: "I haven't used this system." How can anyone rate it without using it?
I've used this system for years and have gotten great sound. I've also used higher-priced wireless systems, and to my ear, there is no difference. Also, this cheap little Azden system is still going strong after some of the other brands bit the dust.
I don't think wireless lav systems can get the great audio you get with a shotgun mic, a boom, and a sound person, but those things are just not in my budget.

(More customer reviews)This antenna pulls in the four major networks plus PBS with perfect HD reception. The four networks are all broadcast from towers located within one mile of each other. That makes aiming the antenna easy. The distance from the towers to my house is 31 miles. If the antenna gets more than 30 degrees off then reception falls off dramatically. The amplifier must be plugged in or there is no reception. It is an in-line amp that uses the coax cable. For my situation, it is the perfect antenna. The price was also nice and there is virtually no assembly.
