Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I bought one for my wife first to use in her car. Works great! I then tried in my car (dodge magnum wagon) which has the FM antenna in the glass of the back window. Other FM transmitters I've tried did not work well. The DLO however has enough signal strength to produce a relatively clean signal even in a crowded FM band (like chicago & burbs).
Pros:
* Good signal strength
* Easy to see display
* Well constructed
* Adjustable angle in regards to 12v plug & display
* Removable USB cable (might also work as a "sync" cable for the sansa)
Cons:
* Unclear programming instructions.
Note:
* If you turn the Sansa OFF while plugged in it will go into
"standby" mode. I usually unplug the Sansa and then turn it
off.
Programming FM frequency tips:
The provided instructions aren't very clear. So here's how to program the Transdock -
Plug in the Transdock, but don't connect the Sansa yet.
1) Find one to four clear FM frequencies (go to DLO's site and find "OpenFM", it will help you find them)
2) Set your car radio to an open frequency
3) Press BOTH buttons on the Transdock to select the "preset" that you want to program the frequence into.
4) Use the left (freq down) or right (freq up) buttons to match the frequency on your car radio.
5) Connect the Sansa and shortly after that you should hear the Sansa on your car radio.
6) Press & hold BOTH buttons at the same time until the Transdock's display temporarily shows the preset you're programming.
Repeat as necessary, up to four times.
