(More customer reviews)I'm very pleased with this product. I just got it for armature film productions, and it's a great buy for non-professionals. I wouldn't recommend this if you are a professional sound studio, but for everyone else (i.e. hobbies, churches, etc.), it's great.
The base:
The receiver is constructed in an aluminum box, includes a rack-mount kit, and looks very professional. It has four knobs to independently adjust the level of each mic. It has a very clean output line with a very faint hiss. A mixer with a low-pass filter would probably take that out. There are five outputs on the back. 4 are for the individual mics (so you can run them independently into your mixer) and the last one has the sound from all the mics combined. This one output has more noise than the individual mic outputs, so I would recommend running each mic output into a mixer. Again, it's not much noise, but there's still some. Better than another, more expensive mic set I bought locally.
The transmitters:
The only reason I gave this product 4 instead of 5 stars is the fact that these transmitter cases look really cheap. They're perfectly operational, but they're not top-quality. Each transmitter operates on a different frequency and really don't seem to interfere with each other. They all contain an LED (different color on each transmitter), switch, 1/8" mono mic connector (screw-in), and a volume adjustment knob.
The mics:
The clip-on mics look very professional. They have a fairly big pop-screen and a nice clip. The connector screws into the transmitter.
The headset mics are not so nice. Basically, they look like the cheapest headsets money can buy with an ok mic. Again, that's just looks. They work fine and are comfortable.
Overall, I'm quit pleased with this set for the price. You wouldn't want to use them in a professional recording studio, but they're great for every other application. I would give it 4 and 1/2 if I could, but Amazon doesn't let you rate in half-stars :-)

(More customer reviews)I was first skeptical of this wireless microphone because of the low price. I was surprised with the overall performance of the mic for its price! Though it has a cheap plastic feel, the broadcast quality and range were good for indoor events. There are a few things that I don't like about it though. The wireless mic has only one channel and requires tuning adjustment before every new use. The wireless mic isn't expandable or shareable; you can only use one of these mics at your events. The provided lavalier mic is pretty cheap. It's too sensitive to wind and it gives the transmitter a hiss. Replacing the mic removes the hiss.
Overall, this is a good priced set for a wireless mic.

(More customer reviews)If you are in the market for a wireless microphone setup for your video camera and like me, you don't want to spend top dollar. You may like the budget friendly Audio Technica Pro 88W/T setup. Listen in to the sound quality and judge for yourself.
Comes with connectors that are compatible with most major cameras. 9v battery for the transmitter and receiver. I found no issues getting it to work with my Canon ZR-70. For practical purposes, the sound quality was as good as anything I've seen produced on the web where I know the audio equipment being used is of much higher caliber. This device seemed to hold its own and do a very good job providing close, crisp audio in a situation where it would be nice to roam free.
The distance was not tested. I did not go 300 yards out to see how far it would go. Most videos I've done are in close proximity to the camera but would be detrimental without some kind of on-person audio setup. Having a wireless option makes this possible and enhances the video without providing so many features that is otherwise overkill for the task at hand.
I'm positive on this review as I found the setup easy and the audio quality to be very good without any noticeablestatic or interference.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this wireless lav to go with my existing AZDEN wireless lav & receiver. When operating with only one lav at a time this works fine, HOWEVER when BOTH lavs are on the same channel at once, there is horrible interference thus rendering them both useless. I performed several tests, using both channels in multiple environments, and came to the conclusion that recording from two wireless lavs simultaneously using this equipment is completely flawed. Therefore, there is no reason in purchasing this product if you plan to use it with an additional wireless lav.

(More customer reviews)I'm a bit surprised at the reviewer who gave only three stars to this system and said in his title: "I haven't used this system." How can anyone rate it without using it?
I've used this system for years and have gotten great sound. I've also used higher-priced wireless systems, and to my ear, there is no difference. Also, this cheap little Azden system is still going strong after some of the other brands bit the dust.
I don't think wireless lav systems can get the great audio you get with a shotgun mic, a boom, and a sound person, but those things are just not in my budget.

I chose it because it was a 900 MHz system rather than the 100 MHz systems from Hysonic, etc. The included lapel mike is not very good. Lots of distortion and very cheaply made. I tried a better quality Radio Shack lapel mike, #33-3013 and got much better results. Compared to putting the mike right into the camcorder, the wireless transmitter shows considerably more noise and lower sound level. No noticeable difference in frequency response, at least for voice recording. Dropouts started occuring when I was about 50 feet away. Bottom line is this isn't broadcast quality but certainly adequate for amateur use.
