(More customer reviews)I purchased this unit so I could have a direct line from my iPod into the factory radio on my 2006 Ford Focus. After a self-install, the unit has worked as described for several months now, with no issues. Because the audio is coming directly from the micro stereo (headphone) jack on my iPod, the audio quality is excellent; far better than the $100 FM transmitter I was using previously.
Also, because the device simply takes input from RCA audio ports, the device allows you to connect any device, such as a portable DVD player or laptop computer. An adapter may be required, as was the case with my iPod, but a RCA to micro stereo adapter can be had for $5 to $10.
It's important to note that if you do not choose to have this professionally installed, you will need to have basic wiring skills and tools. For anyone interested, I've posted instructions on how I installed this device in my vehicle, as well as a list of parts that I used, on my blog. These instructions can be adapted to other Ford / Lincoln / Mercury vehicles with the same factory radio:

Installing a FRD04-AUX Adapter for Ford CAN-BUS Factory Radios
Although the device works excellent once installed, I've subtracted 1 star as you need to purchase about $15 of additional components to wire the device into your vehicle's fuse panel. Again, the instructions on my blog will provide more details.
